The Bird has landed! After a busy holiday season, the Blackbird Team is happy to announce the immediate availability of Blackbird OS – 64-bit ISO.
Blackbird OS is based on Manjaro/Arch. It is, by its name, a continously updated distribution, that gets its updates from Manjaro after some thouroughly testing.

Netrunner is using KDE Plasma and tuning it to be as snappy and responsive as possible. We actively sponsor development of Plasma’s core and new components are included in Netrunner early on. KDE Plasma Desktop is the default desktop environment in all Netrunner versions.
Blackbird is carefully tailored to use approx. 370-400 MB RAM on a fresh start, showcasing that Plasma is performing nicely and responsive even on low-spec computing devices.
Blackbird comes with a selection of pre-installed applications, including Dolphin, Synaptic and Update Manager. There is also a ESR version of Firefox included.

Blackbird OS is based on Debian, but instead of testing, it is based on the current stable version.
It is also a slimmed down version of the Desktop providing a very similar experience but with only a few essential applications on top of KDE Plasma.
